In the article Broadcasting a World of Whiteness by Jon Caramanica, talks about a new tv show on HBO called " Girls " and many believe that the show is racist because of the lack of african american characters in the show and the show has racial slurs. For Example It tells how on a scene after the two cast member named Hannah, played by Lena Dunham and her non boyfriend Adam (Adam Driver) have sex, once they're finished he made a comment promising he"s going to make the "continent of Africa on" Hanna's arm. Also a remark from another cast member said " I want to have children with many different men, of different races."
I honestly dont really care about ONE tv show that doesnt have black characters. There are a million and one tv shows with either all black characters, or half the cast is black characters or all white characters . It just takes one click to find a show that fits your preferences.

New Jersey Woman Says She Was Fired For Being Too Busty
http://gma.yahoo.com/jersey-woman-she-fired-being-too-busty-015114881--abc-news-topstories.html
a data entry worker Lauren Odes for Native Intimates from new Jersey was fired from her job for not covering up .
Her supervisor , a orthodox Jew said her outfits to work were distracting .
This disrespectful thing about this situation is , the supervisors told her to tape down get breasts , and gave her a bathrobe and told her to wear it for the rest of the day. Who wears a bathrobe to work !?
They also said if she didn't want to wear the bathrobe , she had to go out and buy a long grandma dress and put it on. so that's what she did , and while out looking for that horrid outfit , they called her and fired her .
this article made me feel mad , the store didn't gave a specific dresscode , so why would they be so discriminative .. especially for the type of company their running. their just jealous of Laurens body i guess they want her to wear a cardboard box to work, but what still has me heated is what type of respected business tells someone to tape down their body parts because they're too big , I'm glad she did call in her attorney because if that was me , i would have sued them for every penny they had .
Its very weird for a jew to tell a person that works for a lingerie place to cover up her clothes. when you barley wear clothes when you have on lingerie.

Reflection ...
Before I was never really interested in Journalism .. i barley knew what it was about. Now, im still not interested in it because i hate writing newspapers... i hate writing period. For example, i hated writing newspapers .. i wish we did something else. I hated it because everytime i wrote something .. i had to keep editing it over, and over, and over again & i will be honest, i dont have the patience for things like that.
Since coming to high school, i've changed. I use to be a little, small shy girl. But now i could care less about what people think. Im small but im big and mighty at heart. I think i changed for the good, because i take up for myself a little more. For example, if i feel disrespected, i'll tell you straight off how i feel. with no hesitation.
Also, since coming to high school, i separated myself from people that i don't need in my life, such as bad influences and negative people. Even if i been with them for a long time. As i get older, i learned that some people are just better off alone than with a flock of haters .

Tony Hawk Response
I Believe with Tony Hawk when he says " I Believe that people should take pride in what they do, even if it is scorned or misunderstood by the public at large." I Believe in this too because at the end of the day, your doing what YOU want to do or what makes YOU happy. Who cares about what others think. I Always say, the only reason people are hating on you is because they wish they were you. basically, jealousy is taking over them.
The part of the excerpt where Tony Hawk talked about how his teachers use to embarrass him in front of his class because he never followed directions really was an example of how teachers are part of the reason why teenagers have low self esteem. Telling a student that they wont make it anywhere because they don't follow directions, or they don't listen are LIES.
The reason why i said that is because my brother use to fight almost everyday in middle school and high school, and teachers use to always tell him he wasn't gonna be nothing, BUT sadly for them my brother graduated high school, got accepted into Penn State, graduated, and is now in another school for culinary arts.
I personally think the people that bring you down are mad because they didn't get far in life. And the negative feedback only encourages you to work harder to be better than them.

New Fashion Wrinkle
The article "New Fashion Wrinkle: Stylish Hiding the Gun" is about a new type of clothing entering the fashion industry. They are pants that are designed to hide your gun.
These pants " Chinos " cost $65. But since it came out, the clothing company Woolrich came out with a whole clothing line called " Woolrich Elite Concealed Carry Line "that sells both shirts and pants.
I personally think the clothing line is unnessicary. I really think its a waist of money. And even if stores do decide to sell them, they should ask for the permit before paying for the clothes .
I dont like the idea because its dumb. People have been carrying guns around for years in a holster and hasnt had a problem with the way they carry it.
If i had a gun, i personally wouldnt waist $65 on a pair of pants just for the " gun pockets ". I'd rather take my money and but a new JC Bracelet.
In the article, the vice president of 5.11 Tactical said " what we've tried to do is create a collection of garments that allows the end of user to have stylish lifestyle appeal but have features in the garment that enable then to carry a weapon and draw the weapon quickly ".
- it was easier to carry it in a holster , just lift up your shirt and point . plain and simple .

Parkway W. Health Fair .
Last week, Parkway West had a health fair to provide students about sex, drugs, STD's, parenting, depression, pregnancies , abortion, and healthy habits. Most of the information came from brochures and papers the seniors put together for their senior projects in which they had to do before they graduate.
What i like about the health fair is that, every topic/category had its own table. for example, healthy eating had the first table, which had fruits and little brochures and books about how to take care of your body.
What i didn't like about the health fair is that its was cluttered, no space to breath, i thought they should have had it in an empty room instead of the auditorium.
Some information that i learned from the fair is that many people use drugs for athletic reasons and most of the time its because they are pressured to won from a coach, parents, media, public, financial reward, unrealistic qualifying standards and performance expectations.
I have learned a lot from this health fair and its was really interesting learning about taking care of yourself and the people around you.

Frankford Dirt - Bike Tragedy !
Four - Teen year old Jermaine Alexander grew up with a passion and interest for dirt bikes, but sadly his interest turned deadly. Philly.com said " On March 13, the 14 year old sprinted from Warren G. Harding Middle School to a friend's house to borrow a dirt bike. He and a buddy returned to school past their classmates at dismissal, a show of coolness."
Im really still appalled at the fact that a 14 year old and a 15 year old has a dirty bike.
Philly.com also said Eric Carter, 15, who was riding with Alexander, said cops in a marked police cruiser spotted them at Frankford and Oxford and gave chase. Police say there was no chase."
I dont believe the cops. There are a lot of cops that harass innocent people because they have nothing to do with their lives, and i know this from personal experience . About two years ago, the day of my cousins graduation, my brother got pulled over by a cop on his way to pick my cousin up. My brother was driving a car my uncle rented for my cousins big day. He got pulled over , the cop told him to get out of the car and everything , all unnecessary . They ran the plates, saw it was rented and was about to arrest my brother until he told them to call my uncle and confirm.
These days , you really cant trust anyone , not even the people thats here to protect out society . They worry so much about the smallest things instead of the biggest problem on the streets oh philly. http://articles.philly.com/2012-04-09/news/31313339_1_streets-police-cruiser-boys-split
