In this article, " I am a criminal and so are you" law professor Michelle Alexander believes that everyone is a criminal. She believes that everyone has broken at least a couple laws in their lives. smoked, did underaged drinking, go above the speed limit, drink & drive, etc.
Michelle Alexander believes that the public believes that a criminal is the people who are in jail for crimes like murder, rape, theft, broader crimes, but even the people outside the jail cells committed a couple crimes. Even the cops thats protecting and serving today committed crimes, and even our very own president did a few crimes throughout his lifetime and admitted it. No matter how small the crime is, j walking, running through a stop sign, stealing a pack of gum from the corner store, everyone is a criminal.
In the article, it says " i doubt Barack Obama thinks of himself as a criminal, though he should, He has admitted to using illegal drugs during college years -- lots, in fact. Even our own president has admitted to doing illegal drugs throughout his college years.
In my opinion , a criminal is a person who did a really serious crime , like rape , or stealing , or killing. If you J Walk , or take a piece of candy from the store it shouldn't really be considered a crime.
Why does she make this point? What does she want changed? Do you agree with her?
